Finally!

So I'm finally getting around to posting about this week! Yeah, for me! Let's see, where to start!? On Saturday, all my family ended up coming in to town, my brother and his fiance came in friday and went wedding dress shopping Saturday morning. My sister and her family came in Saturday afternoon and so did my mom. Saturday night my mom and sister threw me a family baby shower, it was a lot of fun, it was more of a family get to together, because all the husbands and everyone was there, so we ate dinner and opened presents, we had a great time, I loved it! I'm skipping Sunday because I'm tired and don't want to think that hard...Monday was crazy too, we took Tamsyn to get fitted for her wedding dress, its gorgeous and I think she looks so beautiful, and then we got Bryce fitted for his tux, we stopped at Jason's Deli for lunch and that was good, after that everyone had to drive back home! So the rest of this week my mom and I have been doing whatever we want! Too bad what she wants to do is clean, and I want to sleep! haha just kidding, we've had a lot of fun going to some shops and yesterday we went to Temple Square and watched the Joseph Smith movie, I cried so much! Today we organized the girls room and went to Ikea, its been great to have my mom here and she's been wonderful to us! Its going to kill me to say goodbye tomorrow, I hope we'll be able to see her again very very soon! Well, thats a quick rundown of the week, oh and I did another Lia Sophia party on Wednesday, and that was fun too!
David was determined to make me look stupid in every picture...

being silly with Leanne! haha

playing with the balloons at the end of the shower

Ethan and Maddie on the swings, my kids loved having their cousins here to play!

Maddie has been attached to Grandma all week, I'm sure my mom loves it, but I'm also sure it must be getting old! ;)

sorry...

Its been a busy week and I haven't really had much of a chance to post anything, hopefully in the next few days I can catch up! Its been so nice to have my mom here to visit with and do fun things with, especially now that Dave's started this job and has been gone a lot, sounds weird but I've gotten used to him being home all the time and its hard to adjust sometimes! We've gotten to do a lot of fun things, I've got a bunch of pictures I need to get off my camera, so I'll post those soon! Just a fast update to show I'm still alive and totally surviving! Having three kids has been wonderful so far, I'll keep my finger's crossed! The girls are LOVING having grandma here and Sam is doing wonderful, he's such a great baby! We're so in love with him!

One More Day...

We're just one day away from all my family being here! I'm so excited! Hopefully my sister and her family will get here in the morning, then my mom flies in at about 3:00, and my brother and his fiance are coming in sometime too! I'm really excited, it will be such a fun weekend! The other exciting news we have is that David finally got a job! Yippee! He starts at Mr. Mac tomorrow also, it will be a crazy day for me with all the people coming in, but I'm glad he got the job and he's excited about it. Hopefully he won't spend all of his paycheck on fancy suits and ties and shoes, thats going to be very tempting with the discount they give! :) Sam is doing great, such an amazing baby! The diaper thing is getting better, just when we think we have it down though, he leaks through! haha Bethany is still obsessed with him and just can't stay away for more than two seconds, as soon as she hears a noise she has to run over and check on him! Poor Maddie is the only one really having a hard time right now, she woke up yesterday with a fever and a bad sore throat, her cough is really hacky. We took her in to the dr. and they said it wasn't strep or anything bad, just a yucky virus. She was up all last night coughing and feeling bad, it was a long night and I felt horrible for her! I'm hoping she'll start feeling better soon, especially with all the company, but she's a trooper anyway. This picture is from yesterday afternoon, Bethany was holding Sam and got a little sleepy herself! Isn't that precious?!

Three Days Already!

The last couple days have been so fast and so slow at the same time! It seems like everything melts together and its hard to keep track of what time and day it is! Its been awesome so far and we're really do great! He's such a good baby, the most I could complain about it that we have to change his clothes all the time because he keeps peeing on them! haha Today was Sam's circumcision--yikes! I was super nervous, I felt so bad! I even started getting a little teary-eyed just waiting in the office for it to happen! But after talking to the dr. and him telling us how things go and what to expect, I felt a lot better. Everything went fine, me and Dave watched and really quite an interesting procedure, terrible!-but interesting. Now I feel even worse changing his diaper--he already hated it before, but now... So anyway, here's a few pictures, we're loving having him here!

David and his boy, so sweet!

My three kids watching a movie together, gotta tell you when I looked over and saw them all together I could've cried it was so cute!

Samuel Walker!

All week long I had things that needed to get done, like preschool graduation, and thursday I had my first lia sophia party to host, they were things I had back ups for but it was much better to do them myself. So anyway, maybe after the party thursday I felt relieved it was over or something, but right at the end there when we were loading up, I started having contractions again. I thought it was nothing and went to bed hoping the would relax and I could sleep (it had been a long day!) but about midnight I woke up and I couldn't take it anymore, so we called Carla (I'm forever grateful for!) and she came and stayed the night with the girls. We got to the hospital out in Orem about 12:30, and I'd already dialated from a 3 to a 4 since my appointment that afternoon. Long story short, after being up all night and finally getting the epidural, they broke my water at 5 am. We had a small scare after that, whenever I had a contraction his heart rate would drop really low, after the contraction was over it would jump back up, but it was really pretty scary, they were talking about a c-section if things didn't come back up, and they put an oxygen mask on me to help him get more oxygen in between contractions. I don't know about you guys, but I shake a lot when I'm in labor, I was shaking so much my jaw hurt from clenching my teeth! But we were lucky that everything went really quickly and he was born within one contraction at 6:02 am. It ended up that the cord was wrapped around his neck twice, and thats why his heartrate was dropping. So while they worked on me, they worked on him, he cried so cute, they were worried about his breathing and his coloring, so they were going to take him to the nursery and give him an IV and some fluids but they wanted to let me hold him first; and after I held him he was looking so much better they didn't think they needed to do anything else. So anyway, he was 7 lbs 2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He's amazing and I couldn't believe how surprised I was because he didn't really look at all like I thought he would! He's still gorgeous, just not what I had pictured! He's been so amazing, he's very calm and hardly ever cries, only when we change his diaper pretty much! We'll be posting more pictures soon I'm sure, the darn battery in my camera died last night, so we'll be taking LOTS more pictures as soon as its charged!

Right after he was born!

First time seeing eachother!

Dad and Son--could Dave be any happier??!!

not just the little sister anymore

big sister twice now!

Isn't he perfect!

Preschool Graduation

Well, yes, its me again. I'm still here, slowly going crazy... :) Really I'm posting about preschool graduation this morning. This morning was our graduation party, and I wanted the room to look good and be really clean, so I go down and start cleaning. I mop the floor and dump the dirty water in the toilet and flush...ummmm...how come the water's not going down?! So I sort of break the toilet! You've got to be kidding me! I'm plunging, I'm emptying the water out with a bucket, I'm re-mopping, but yet, nothing is working! There's a little utility closet on the other side of the bathroom, with a drain in the floor and there is stinky dirty toilet water backing up into it, it smells so bad! So I go down there to make sure its nice, and end up making it disgusting! Anyway, we get it cleaned up and the toilet working, so thats good. So, the program goes well, the kids were really excited and I hope the parents enjoyed it also. It was nice because Shauna gave me some flowers and I got a couple cards, it was very thoughtful! So now I'm officially done working! Wow! What a weird feeling driving out of the parking lot, like it should be more momentous or something! Anyway, hopefully I can relax a little the next couple days, or atleast get some stuff done before I have the baby! I really wouldn't be sad though if I got nothing done and had the baby today! ;) Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

The flowers I got! unfortunately I didn't think to bring my camera this morning, so there's no pictures of Bethany in her cute graduation cap, or anything like that! darn it!

Still Here.....

Yup, no baby yet! Despite having some pretty good contractions all weekend, I'm still here and waiting! We've been trying to get last minute things done, got the cradle all ready, bought some diapers the other day, and I packed my hospital bag. But still waiting! Saturday night was pretty miserable, I had contractions all night, so I didn't get hardly any sleep. They finally stopped about six o'clock in the morning, so all night I'm worrying about how long I should wait or what I'm going to do with my girls and in between dreaming about having a baby, it was an interesting night! And yesterday was Mother's Day, wouldn't it have been so cool to have had the baby yesterday?! Oh well, it was still a very nice day! I didn't have any meetings so I got to sleep in--yippee!--and David made dinner (which isn't really a surprise, since he makes dinner almost every night!) and we went to Mark & Carla's and played games with them and Romrells', it was very fun--and good for me to get out of the house and keep my mind off things! So anyway, I'm still here but hopefully in the next little bit, you'll get a different kind of post, one where I
don't sound so depressed! :)
Here are a couple pictures of the Mother's in my life! I'm so very grateful for the wonderful example's of my mother and David's mother, I am very blessed to have them in my life!

Stuff!

Had my dr. appointment yesterday, not much new. I've progressed a little more, he says I could go anytime or he'd see me next week, can't really be specific! Its frustrating, but thats how things go, you just never know! So anyway, besides my appointment, Bethany had her dress rehearsal last night, so it was fun to get to take pictures (they won't let you at the performance), so here's a couple pictures from that. (Oh, p.s. Bethany told David yesterday totally out of nowhere: "Hey Dad, guess what? I went to Jared!" If you've seen that commercial you'll know what I'm talking about, thought it was pretty funny though!)

What a Weekend!

I'm sure ever post I write sounds like our life is completely crazy, but I guess it is, so thats why! And this weekend was no exception! Saturday started with Bethany's rehearsal, from 9:30 to 11:30, she did really well and listened so good. After she got home, we got the girls dressed in Sunday clothes and headed to the church for Jolyn's funeral. They asked the Primary kids and the teenagers to sing some Primary hymns before the funeral started, so we practiced for a little bit and went into the chapel to sing. I love the primary songs, they are so sweet and touching, I thought I'd be okay but a few of them really got to me and I just couldn't hold myself together! It was I think the most beautiful funeral I've ever been to, the songs that were sung were amazing and I cried during all of them, and the people who spoke were so wonderful and sweet, the things they said were absolutely perfect! I cried a lot, but in a good way too, it was a hard day but I'm so thankful we went and were able to feel the spirit that was there! After that I was pretty exhausted and just went home and crashed.
Sunday was a pretty busy day as well, I had Ward Council (that I was late for because my brain just doesn't function anymore! I thought the meeting started at 8:30, but it started at 8:00! I had to walk in with a bright red face...), came home and got the girls' ready for church, got Bethany's talk all ready, went to church, then after church my visiting teachers came. Its always fun to sit and visit with them, its nice to have visiting teachers that are about the same age and stage in life, where we can talk about the same kinds of things, it was really fun. It's my uncle's b-day tomorrow, so we'd planned to get together for a family dinner that night, but I got a phone call that Leanne was in the hospital- her water broke that morning! Lucky her.... :) We still got together for dinner and then as a big group went to see Leanne and the new baby in the hospital. She's absolutely ADORABLE! So sweet, it's hard to remember how tiny newborn babies are, but she was so calm and mellow, it was very fun to go and see them! Of course Bethany couldn't stay away from her, she is so into babies!
So anyway, there was our weekend, now just about every one I know has had their baby and here I am waiting my turn. Hopefully the time will fly--I know it will in general, its just the day by day thing, and not sleeping at night, that makes it seem longer! Oh well, still lots to get done and it will be my turn soon enough!

Another really quick update!

Just real quick, we finally got Bethany into the allergy specialist to check on her peanut allergy. I've done allergy testing before and kind of expected how things would be, but not sure how they would do it on a little kid (I did it when I was about 17). I was really sad because I had to work and couldn't be there, but David was great and Bethany was a champ! When I was tested they marked my forearms, put little drops of syrum or whatever of things people are allergic to, and then pricked the drops to see if you would react to them. They did the same kind of thing to Bethany, except they did it on her back and didn't do nearly as many drops, I think they would just do the allergies that are threatening, more food allergies and that sort. I remember it was really hard not to scratch after they pricked you, but you had to wait for like five minutes or so and if you scratched it they had to start over. Bethany was having a hard time, but Dave distracted her and she got through it, I'm very proud of her (there was an older woman when I did it that couldn't get through it, so she's pretty tough!). Bethany does get a special epipen to go to school with her, and the dr. even showed her how to use it. Well, so much for super quick, but there you have it on Bethany's allergies!

Quick Update

Just a quick update! I had my dr.'s appointment today, I'm progressing just fine, except I lost a whole pound this last week?! Crazy huh? I'm dialated to a two and I'm seventy percent effaced (sp?), which is more than I was last week. We'll see what he says next week, I'm scheduled to be induced on the 19th, but could go before that, who knows? It's so hard because I don't want to go early because of TONS of things that are happening in the next few weeks, but I'm so tired of being pregnant! :) Oh well, there's nothing to do but wait, besides get stuff ready and go to the millions of meetings and appointments and whatever else we have going on! Oh, on a side note, Bethany has another ballet performance next Friday and Saturday, I'm so excited, she loves doing it so much! Tomorrow she's getting her pictures taken, she loves it because she gets to wear make-up! oooh la la! She has a bunch of rehearsals next week, hopefully it won't be too overwhelming for her, I'm sure she'll do just great though. Well, thats whats going on with us--atleast for this week!
