Bethany's 5th Birthday

So, yesterday was Bethany's birthday and I still can't believe I have a five year old! Yikes, how the time flies! I had to work in the morning, but I was off by nine, David had school so we did some stuff around the house and picked David up when he was done. UVSC is pretty close to the mall, and the girls' had gotten some 'build a bear' giftcards for Christmas, so we decided we would do that for her b-day. We got up there and Bethany was in heaven! She couldn't decide which clothes or shoes to get, and then she spotted the princess stuff! She told me "Mom, I don't want my bear to be a rockstar, I want her to be a princess." Alrighty then! It was really fun for the girls, Maddie would not let us help her carry it out, so she dragged her box all through the mall, it was pretty funny! We opened presents and had cake and all that, it was a nice day. Bethany always says the funniest things, David said when she woke up, she asked him if she was any taller, because now she was five! haha And then when we got back from daycare she asked me if her voice sounded any different because she was older now. I should start making a list of all the great things she comes up with!

President Hinckley

Well, like so many other people, I've been thinking so much of President Hinckley's passing. It shouldn't be so shocking, but for some reason I didn't prepare myself for the fact that he would actually leave this earth at some point! I am so thankful to have seen his leadership, listened to his words and felt of his love. He truly was called of God, and I can only strive to follow his amazing example! President and Sister Hinckley are two of my most favorite people, I am so thrilled they are reunited, how fantastic!



President Hinckley said: "The past is behind us, and the future ahead never looked better than it does today. ... This is the greatest season in the history of the Church, and it will only get better."

Roller Skating

We went roller skating last night for our Young Men/Young Women activity, we do it every year, and because we rent out the whole rink we invite families and whoever else wants to come. It really was a lot of fun! I wish I had some pictures to put up, but silly me forgot my camera! I did atleast get a funny story to tell out of it. I went to check on the girls and David said Bethany had just gone to the bathroom and wanted me to check on her to see if she was ok (she was still in the skates and really unsteady), so I start down the bathroom hallway and can hear her just screaming "DADDY!!", she had come straight from ballet and still had her leotard on and couldn't get it down and was going to wet her pants! So I hurry in there and help her get situated, and realize now I have to go pretty bad as well. I figure I'll just stay in her stall since I need to help her anyway, so when she gets done I go to sit down and she slips in her skates bare bottom on the ground! This causes me to slip a little (luckily landing on the toilet!) but I roll over her finger on the way down. So there we are, I'm relieving myself and she's sitting on the floor screaming because her finger hurts--just naked! All I could do was laugh, pick her off the floor and get her dressed, it was quit a sight, I'm sure it would've been funny just to hear, but luckily no one else was in there! So there's my "bathroom" humor for you! haha

New Years

(I know this is a little overdue, but I wanted to show the pics) For New Years we went down to Las Vegas to visit Melinda's sister. Its been a family tradition for a long time to do gingerbread houses, so we decided we should do it while we were all together. We had so much fun!

It's a BoY!!

Well, its finally happened, a boy has made it to our family! David couldn't be happier, I don't know if he could stop smiling if he wanted to! Bethany already said it would be a boy and of course Maddie has no idea whats going on anyway! Its been a great day, I might just put in the ultrasound DVD just to watch it one more time! Here's a couple scans from the ultrasound, they aren't that great but it's fun to see anyway!

Christmas Day! After all the presents were opened, the mess was unbelievable! It was really different to not be close to our family, but it was still a wonderful day. So glad to have my aunt and uncle and cousins so close, they were so great to include us in their family!

Bethany's been doing ballet for about a year now, she really loves it! In December she had a recital, this is her class. She was the "line leader'' which means all the little girls followed her around. She did a great job! She always stands out with her glasses too, really cute!
