Trip to Boise

Waaaaaaay back at the end of June me and Dave took a trip to Boise. He had a work class he needed to take and we decided for fun I'd tag along for a few days. I was there a total of four days. It was the first trip me and Dave have EVER taken alone! hahaha Aren't we lame?!

Anyway, it wasn't much of a trip. Well, because we just went to Boise and Dave had to take the car with him to class all day. So all I did was read and sometimes sit by the pool and watch some tv. Which, I'm TOTALLY not complaining about. The only thing I can complain about is that aunt flo decided to visit the second day of the trip. :/

So we did end up having the first day all to ourselves since Dave's class didn't start until the next day. We went to Chick-fil-a and I was in heaven! :) We might have gone back for dinner too. Before we left, I had made a list of different fun places to eat in Boise. We hit a couple of them but Boise has to be the most confusing place to drive IN THE WORLD. :) There are a LOT of one way streets (big ones, like four lanes wide) and the GPS wasn't doing us any favors. So anyway, driving around was pretty frustrating at times. We did get to try the burgers at Big Jud's (yum, fry sauce!) and the ice cream potato (which is ice cream in the shape of a potato, rolled in cinnamon and cocoa, with whipped cream and chocolate syrup--super good!). And the weather was pretty great too. Oh, and we ate at Texas Roadhouse, which David loves. Food is important to us okay?

All in all, it was just nice to get to sit around and be together and relax for a few days. Probably much needed.

And since I wasn't really doing anything, I didn't take hardly any pictures! haha Here's what I got!

I made friends with the squirrel by the pool, he actually got really close to me. Obviously
people feed them or something. :)

                                                                            Poser.

These are off my phone:

Huge HUGE shout out to my sister Kristie who took my kids for FOUR DAYS!! For real, she is amazing and awesome and my kids had the BEST time with her, she seriously rocks to take on my four plus her four to make EIGHT kids!! Love her and am so grateful she did that for me!

Bethany's Recital

Like I said in the last post, after Chambers Bay was Bethany's piano recital. She's been taking piano lessons for over a year now from her Grandpa Keith, and this is her second recital. She's coming along a little at a time, she would be doing a whole lot better if I could ever get her to practice! *sigh* I can relate, I never wanted to practice either. :/ Its funny though because she wants to play everything! There was a musical number in church today with a violin and she leans over and says she wants to learn that too! I told her she won't be moving on to other instruments until she can practice the ones she's already learning! ;) Funny girl.

We're so thankful for Grandpa Keith though, who takes the time to drive out to our house every week, who's patient and kind with how he teaches her. I love that she gets to learn from him! So sweet!

Waiting her turn to play...nervous!

My sister and brother-in-law came to watch, it was so nice of them to come! Plus they kept my kids entertained! Score!

This is Anne, she's Keith's piano teacher. We like to say she's like the grandparent teacher to Bethany.

All done! She did it and did a really good job! There was one song she played that she had the hardest time with it clicking, so proud of her for sticking to it!

And this is where Dave dropped Kimball on his head in the middle of the recital! :P

Chambers Bay

If you know me at all, you should know that I LOVE the ocean. I love the beach. I love sand and seashells and driftwood. I love the smell, I love the sounds. Oh I love the ocean! So last weekend Dave had drill which usually means my weekends are shot, but we decided not to waste it and headed down to Chambers Bay. Bethany had a piano recital that evening at Grandma's house and Chambers isn't too far, so we thought it would be fun to head down there before. Our biggest problem was we didn't plan on how hot it would be, and we were sweating pretty good. And I didn't bring any water. Because I'm a bad mom. So we didn't stay as long as I would have liked, but I did bring the most important thing: a grocery bag, for me to put my shells and driftwood in... ;)
