Dream BIG....dream's my new mantra!

So I just got home from my first day back at work. Wow. My life sucks. I don't want to sound like such an ingrate or like a whiny baby, but WAAH! Waah, waah, waaaaah! And seriously no offense to my boss or the cute kids I work with, its just so HARD! (and a little boring too...) It's just so much easier to stay at home and do whatever I want, plus this week probably wasn't a fantastic week to start working, since I literally have something going on EVERY night this week--not exaggerating, EVERY night, and Saturday too. I'm losing it, I truly am. Anyway, I could keep going on with my pity party, but you don't want none of that do you?! Since my real life world is a little depressing right now, I'm going to my make-believe world where in it I don't have to work and everything is perfect. I can't here you phone with one more request on my time *LA LA La La la*! In this oh so perfect world, we have lots of money and I don't have to work. At all. I don't even move. Aaaaah, heaven. Thinking about this, I wonder what I would do if I had enough money to not care anymore? Here's a few things I thought of, in honor of going back to work today!:

Maybe I'm insane (well we've established this already, yes?), but the first thing I would NOT buy is a house or car or whatever (although that comes later), but I would buy CLOTHES! Fantastically wonderful, cute, adorable, perfect fitting clothes! Oh happy day! Here's a couple outfits, I would give most anything to have today:

*i love them* But hey, I'm not selfish, I would also buy my kids the most stinkin cute clothes you've ever seen! See how generous I am?! I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the mall to torture myself by looking at the fantastically cute clothes at Gap Kids and can't buy them for my beautiful children! But NO, in my dreamland I CAN buy them and my kids would look even cuter than these:

So now that we look GoRgeOuS, what else would I spend my money on?! Oh yes, the house! Right now my tiny cramped house is the bane of my existence, but NO, I'm in La La Land, and I live HERE!(sans the snow, I'm still enjoying summer, and I can choose that because this is MY fantasy!):

Oh so lovely! Don't I have great taste?! But it doesn't stop there, what does the inside look like?!?! I'm sure you're on pins and needles! I love interior decorating and my house would be fantastical! And it would completely change whenever I had the whim to do so, you see I like many different types of decorating and could never be satisfied with a house that looked the same for the next 20 years!

What else have I got you ask?! Some clothes, a beautiful house, you think thats it for me?! You've got to be kidding! Next comes the car, its just basic necessity right?! NO! I love automobiles and we would have many! Here's a few that would belong in my perfect sphere:

Normally at this point I would force myself to stop, because no good can come from lusting after things you'll never have, but nay! I will not! It's been one of those weeks and I'm going to indulge myself! (and regret it later I'm sure!) Whats next, I know you're dying to know! In a heartbeat I would travel to all the different parts of the world, no place too exotic, nowhere too expensive, I'm going and I will photograph it all (and win some sort of prize with my photographic genious!). Places like Greece and Italy, definitely Iguaza Falls in Brazil, what about Ireland, oh yes there too, and many many more!

Stop you say?! What?! I can't, I've gone too far and I'm not finished yet! Because my sensational home has a few acres, we would have a little petting zoo! Oh yes, I'm the coolest mom ever!

This is Butch; yes I've named him. Before you consider calling the people in white jackets to come take me away, I've wanted a bulldog for some odd years and to name him Butch after my dad, because that is a perfect bulldog name. Whatever, I can be crazy if I want to, its my universe.

I would also be so well rounded my head would explode! I could play the guitar, sing beautifully, paint masterpieces, bake the best desserts you've ever tasted, become the next Beethoven, and continue my education for the rest of my life (of course only classes I want to take, no math or that garbage)!

We would also have the latest and greatest technology, it would be awesome! I would have the Wii to play on the biggest tv you've ever seen, so big your eyes pop out of your head! Better than a surround sound system, don't know what it would be, just BEttEr!

I could go on but alas, time has caught up to me and is ending my marvelous reverie......
I truly hope you don't read this and think "sheesh, she's selfish and insane, I can't believe she didn't mention ending world hunger or atleast buying her parents a house!" I want those things too! Plus, world peace, curing AIDS and cancer, helping every needy child in the universe, ending slavery and fixing our national debt. But hey, I only had so much time and I chose the other way! Hey, I can't be perfect all the time! Man! What would YOU do if you had all the money in the world?!

Wow, two posts in one day, I'm a blogging fool! The other thing I really need to post about is: Bethany started school yesterday! Last week she did her assessment, which was so nerve wracking--I was sweating like crazy! Not really because I was THAT nervous, but it was incredibly hot in there! Do you think they do that on purpose? haha Just kidding! She did alright, I wasn't embarassed for the things she didn't know, it was more embarassing on the questions she didn't answer that I know she knows! She did really well though, its just hard to watch your kid be nervous, it makes you just want to scoop them up and give them all the answers! ;) So anyway, her first day was yesterday and she loved it! I knew she would, but still you never know! There are a lot of kids from church in her class, so its nice that she knows a couple of people in there. She came home with a crown and she said they played outside (the main thing she wanted to do)! Its fun to put her in her school clothes, she looks so old! I can't believe I have a kid in school, where did the time go?!

I think she looked so cute, it was so fun to see her walk into class (although a little heartbreaking for me!), now I just need to get myself into shape and wake up on time! :)

Wedding Bliss!

Sorry its been awhile since I updated anything, I've been insanely busy, and part of the reason is my brother got married this last Saturday! What an AWESOME day! Words can't explain how happy I am for my brother! He married such an amazing girl, and we're ecstatic to have her in our family! What an awesome day, I still can't get over it! (if you can't tell from all the exclamations, it was awesome!) haha

This is them coming out of the Temple, don't they look just gorgeous?!

Here we are waiting for them to come out of the Temple. By this time, my feet are so blistered and sore, I cursed the day I ever bought those fantastically cute evil shoes! I flung them to the side and walked around barefoot, yes my feet were disgusting by the end of the day, but I could NOT stand another minute walking in those shoes! (don't worry I had them on for the pictures, I have amazing inner strength, I'm sure you didn't know that!)

These pics are just a "snippet" of what were taken, just a few I really liked! Their photographer was awesome, she was a lot of fun and took tons of cute and beautiful and fun pictures! Loved her! I can't wait to see them when they get in!

Here are my siblings, we took a nice picture....

....and a silly one! We look fantastic, don't you think?!

After all the picture's, we headed over to the Lion House for a luncheon. It was so beautiful in there and the food was very tasty! It was a lot of fun to sit and visit with family and friends. We sat at a table with a couple of Tamsyn's relatives, and I'm convinced that I NEED an accent now! (although they said I DO have one) haha I'm also convinced that Americans are seriously lacking in the proper manners department, I want to be from South Africa now! :)

Through the Eyes of a Child

You know, it just doesn't happen very often that you get to see yourself the way your kids see you. I got a rare glimpse of that tonight when Bethany was tagged with this little gem! Some of the answers don't make any sense, but then you wouldn't know Bethany if you thought she made sense! Some of them make me laugh, and some are just plain frightening! By no means, does this reflect who I really am--I swear it! (She USED to be my favorite, but now....) hahaha

1. What is something mom always says to you? clean up my bedroom (although, this is so true!)
2. What makes mom happy? listening (also true)
3. What makes mom sad? not listening (yes...)
4. How does your mom make you laugh? be funny
5. What was your mom like as a child? princesses
6. How old is your mom? 17 (really? I had her when I was 11 then! Sick)
7. How tall is your mom? really tall

9. What does your mom do when you're not around? clean (that is probably true)
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for? cartoons (huh?)
11. What is your mom really good at? working at your work
12. What is your mom not very good at? not being angry (hahahahahahahaha)
13. What does your mom do for her job? the daycare
14. What is your mom's favorite food? pepperoni pizza
15. What makes you proud of your mom? playing games with me (she doesn't know what proud means, but it works I guess)
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be? Yogi Bear (WHY?! Why would she choose a fat picnic basket stealing BEAR?! Cruel world....)
17. What do you and your mom do together? we play dead doctor (what the heck?!?!)
18. How are you and your mom the same? we both have pierced ears
19. How are you and your mom different? we don't have the same face (she's a quick one this one)
20. How do you know your mom loves you? because I know
21. What does your mom like most about your dad? he loves you, you love him (simple as that right?)
22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go? the mall (I do love me some shopping!)

Bethany wants to tag: Austin, Abbey, Kylie and Jacob

Have fun learning how your kids see you!

Thought this was way fun and interesting too!

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the "next" button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool!

Busy Days!

Dave's been having thursdays' for his day off (although last week it was wednesday), so we've been trying to do something fun every thursday. This particular day, we planned lots of fun stuff! Dave started out golfing that morning, after he got back we went up to the canyon to fish! He's been promising Bethany for like years to take her fishing, so he finally decided it would happen! Sadly, the pole he bought her was garbage and just knotted up, and by the time he got going, a thunderstorm burst in, and we were soaked! We tried to gather up all our stuff quickly, but man it was crazy!

So what do you do after your fishing plans get ruined? I don't know about you, but we went to the pool! (which we do just about every thursday any way)

Yikes! Some wardrobe malfunction going on there!

Another fun thing I did that day? (I know, the fun never ends!) Girls' Night! A group of us ladies went to see Mamma Mia. I had pretty much no desire to see it by myself, but it was a perfect girls' movie! I'm not really one for being loud in a theater, but man we laughed it up! We were so obnoxious, I loved every second! We had the huge tub of popcorn and just giggled and laughed and enjoyed ourselves immensely! Favorite line of the night:

Shanna: "Hey, can you guys smell me?"

I'm not even going to explain it, because that makes it not funny! hehe

So lots of stuff going on with us, there's just one of our days of summer! I love summertime, too bad school starts TOMORROW! My baby is starting school this year, I'm shocked it snuck up so quickly! But I know she'll love it, and I'm very excited for her!
