Saying Goodbye

Well, the funeral is over. David's mom gave the eulogy and did an amazing job, it was beautiful and heartfelt and funny. Everything a eulogy should be! :) David got to dedicate the grave and really did a great job, he was really nervous but he didn't need to be because he had everything under control! Here's a few pictures I snapped at the funeral and also at the cemetary.

Of course it's always hard to say goodbye to someone you love, but the best part is you don't have to say goodbye for forever! I find so much comfort in that, we're so lucky to have the gospel! :)

Grandpa Larry

Just stopping in here real quick, I don't really have much in the way of updating, except that David's parents and one of his sisters are here and his other sisters' will be here tomorrow morning. Funeral plans are coming along, almost everything is done, just mostly little things left to do. I wanted to add this little collage of David's grandpa. Although I only knew him for a short eight years, I really did enjoy him and I hope he knew that I really appreciated how kind he was to me.

I'm A WINNER, not a Weiner!!!

I WON!!! I WON I WON I WOOOOOON!!! THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIIIIIFE! (Said like off of Get Smart, in the Cone of Silence)

Wow I feel good! I entered Julie's contest and shock of all shocks, I WON! (Actually shouldn't be so shocking, who really wants to be the winner of the grossest floor? ME MEMEMEMEME!!!) Because guess what? I get a prize and you don't! NEenEr nEeNer NEENER!! hHEHEHEhehehe

Okay, I'm done. :)

Oh! And Julie didn't even know this (maybe?), but her winner song is We are the Champions by Queen--and Queen is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND of ALL TIME!!

I'm so easily made to be happy. :)

UPDATE: Some people were wondering what I won, so here you go:

PERFECT isn't it?

Where I completely Embarrass Myself

Okay, I'm only doing this because I'm all about the free stuff. And I want to win! That probably doesn't make much sense, so let me explain. My friend Julie, is having a little contest and I want to WIN!! At the expense of being horribly embarrassed and shamefully rejected by my family, I'm submitting these two photos.
Julie's contest is to see who's floor is filthiest. And the only thing thats keeping me from feeling too awful is that this mess happened in ONE afternoon. Like it happens pretty much EVERY afternoon, so its not like this mess happened over the course of weeks. I seriously sweep my floors very often, because my kids are filthy animals. And have no respect for me. Its very sad. So see, now I'm back to being ashamed. Oh well, if I win, its all worth it! :D

Pile #1, theres a watch, a bracelet, a play dough container and some play dough "cookie cutter" type-o things, there's tons of paper, a dryer sheet, a couple crayons, a valentine, clothes tags and approximately a whole box of Ritz crackers crushed up.

This is pile #2, yes it looks a lot like the first, because its from the SAME DAY on the SAME FLOOR. The first pile got so big I had to make a second; more paper, more cracker crumbs, more play dough containers. And just to let you know, it took FOUR scoops to get it in the trash. Maybe even five, I lost count after two and I was crying uncontrollably. :)

So whatta ya say Julie? Do I win??!?! DO I WIN, DO I WIN, DO I WIN?!?!?!?! Please?!

Sheesh you guys are pushy! :)

Okay okay people, I've been harrassed enough! Here are the pictures from painting Isabel's room. I took pictures of each stage, but I'll just share the finished product with you. I was really pleasantly surprised at how quickly things got done, but it was really hard to stop! I wanted to keep adding more things, but darn, at some point you gotta say enough's enough. (Or in my case, you have to stop atleast 15 minutes before you drive away...) So here they are, let me know what you think! Unless you think they're hideous, bad, weird, unpleasant, etc. Then lie. Lie your little heads off! :)

This is the dwarf's little cottage, cute huh?

I made a castle door and window, I wanted to make a fairy wand and make it look like magic, but I ran out of time. :(

Tree and swing, I added a rose to sit on the swing, see next picture. (sorry you can't really see the detail in this one.)

See, told you! Rose on swing.

This butterfly was flying near the tree.

A closer look at the bunny in the window.

Here's my sister and her hubby for Valentine's Day.

And me and Dave!

We're Back!

Okay everyone, I'm back from Las Vegas! I haven't downloaded the pictures yet, but I promise I will soon! We had a great time, it was just so nice to visit and laugh and play games with Kristie and her family. I just love her so much! And that Ethan is my love! He is so doggone funny! (oh Kristie, Maddie yelled out "Ethan!" in her sleep last night! hahahaha) Its so hard to come home and be away from them, Bethany cried for a long time on the way home yesterday. When we were almost home, she started sniffing again and I asked her what was wrong. She told me that everytime she looks out the window, it makes her sad because it reminds her she's far away from Isabel. So sad! We had a great Valentine's day, we went out to dinner and played games, it was great! The painting for Isabel's room went really well, actually better than I thought, things went by really fast and the most disappointing thing was having to stop, I would've kept adding more and more stuff if I could have! :) I promise to post the pictures in the next day or two, but tonight is New Beginnings and Sam has a dr.'s appointment too, so I'm a little busy! Oh, and once again we went to Vegas and did not gamble one penny, actually we didn't even go to the strip! :)

I wish I had a Princess room!

I'm so excited! We're getting ready this week to go down to Las Vegas and see my sister! It's been awhile since we've been on a trip and it's always AWESOME to see Kristie and her super awesome family!
Whats also exciting for me, is that I'm going to paint a mural in her daughter's room! I love to draw and paint, but I just don't get to do it very often--because of my kids and/or lack of time. So it's always exciting when I have an excuse to do it!
Isabel's (thats my neice) dad built her a castle bed, isn't that so awesome!? So we're doing a princess kind of theme. We're going to do the dwarf's cottage off in the distance, and a huge tree and little woodland creatures! Awww its gonna be so CUTE! I promise to post pictures of it when I'm done, hopefully it will turn out amazing and not...hmmm, ugly? Wish me luck!
Here's a couple pictures I've gotten some ideas from:

Five Dollar Foot Long!

Every year for one of our YM/YW combined activities we have a lip sync and this year was no disappointment! We had a great time and laughed a lot, the kids really worked hard this year and came up with some awesome acts! I got it all on video, now I just have to dig up/purchase a cord so I can put it on the computer and make discs. I've gotten quite a few requests for copies. (sorry the pictures are so dark, hopefully you can see a little atleast!)

Here's the Laurels', we did the Evolution of Dance, never heard of it? Go look it up on YouTube.

The Priests' did a Sons of Provo rap, Mack Whack Daddy Mormon something or other...

A couple of the Priests' feeling confident yes?

Sam totally enjoyed himself--yes Kristie, there he is even in public with no pants on...:P

The Deacon's did "Five Dollar Foot Long", very original I must say. (it's the song from the Subway commercials)

The Teacher's did "Amish Paradise" by Weird Al, and I'm not ashamed to say that I still remembered every word of it. (I used to love Weird Al)
The Miamaids did "Jukebox Hero" by Foreigner and were so AWESOME! Loved their costumes, full with mullets and fakey perms...
I feel terrible I don't have any pictures of the Beehives, my camera died right before their turn! They were by far the best--and you know that hurts me to say, since I want to win everything!! :) Atleast its on video, hopefully we can work out the copying thing!

Birthday Parties!

I finally got around to uploading the pictures from Bethany's party! Aren't you glad it didn't take three weeks this time? The party itself was great, and Bethany LOVED having her friends here and we played a few really fun games. I still can't believe how fast the time goes, but its going, so I better get used to it! :)

Making bracelets

Playing kiss the frog prince (Bethany actually won this one, can you see her lips in the back?)

I made sillhouettes of all the girls.

And each girl that came got one of these headbands in her goody bag, cute huh?

My little princess!

The cake (I know there's seven candles on there, I was trying to make it look like a "6") :)

Making bracelets

Getting ready for the mermaid race

GUM! Can you get much better? haha

Decorations, we had streamers going across the whole room, Sam was so confused! :)

And thats about it! I don't think we'll do a friend party every year, but every couple and that will be good! :)
