My Girls

One more comparison for you, my grandma crocheted this dress and bonnet for Bethany when we first moved down here. I love it so much, its so sweet--I would love more, hint hint grandma. So I put Maddie in it today and thought I would post the picture of Bethany in it and now Maddie. It is sort of weird to think of how long ago Bethany was that little, but it goes so fast! Well, thought it was cute anyway! (Bethany is on the left and Maddie is on the right)

Priest/Laurel Overnighter

Last year was the first year our stake did our "Priest and Laurel Overnighter" up at Aspen Grove, I was able to go and had a really great time. It was a lot of fun to get to know some of the newer laurels and get to be around them where I wasn't really in charge, just laughing and having fun. So, Friday afternoon, I got ready and headed out to do it all again. I have to say I just love my laurels, they are wonderful girls! We have a lot of laurels right now, about 17 within the next couple months. We had 10 girls go up for the overnighter, way to go! I love the fact that I don't have to be concerned about where they are or what they're doing, they are all really good girls! So, besides going to bed at 2 am and being exhausted, it was such a fun weekend! (this is a picture of Annie, one of my favorites--they're all my favorites--can you tell she was really really hungry!?)

The Family Haircut

So my dad made a comment about my hair being as short as his and that its even parted on the same side! So I thought it would be funny to do a little comparison, how much do I look like my dad now? Well, its up to you, what do you think? But even if I do look like my dad, you can definitely tell my hair is much more lush and full and beautiful!! haha (although on his side of it, he's definitely more tan than I am!)

Easter Weekend

Saturday we did an Easter egg hunt with the Nielsens, it was a ton of fun! Sunday the girls looked so cute, we rag tied their hair and my grandma got them the sweetest dresses! We went to my aunt and uncle's for dinner and had a great time laughing and playing and doing whatever--they're so good to us! I wanted to take family pics with us all dressed up (and the girls looking so cute), they're pretty cute huh? (except for that fat lady in there...haha)
Thanks Mark, for taking pictures for us! :)

Bethany looked so cute Sunday, not that she cooperated for a picture!

Isn't that the cutest boy with braces?!?!

Aidan stealing an egg from Bethany! :)

This is what Bethany looked like after Aidan stole the egg from her--hehe!

Yeah, she's happy!

Maddie found an egg!

The girls really had a great time and so did Dave and I--which is always a plus!

Monday, monday....

Well, its another Monday, and what can I say? I can see why people don't like Mondays, it really seems like if somethings gonna go wrong, it will on Monday! :) Work was crazy (it usually is on Mondays) and I'm totally exhausted! If I have to hear another kid whine and say "TEAcher, so and so looked at me funny!!" I'm going to rip all my hair out! So anyway, I get home and Dave tells me the laptop crashed! Oh no, all my pictures!! He took it to the nerd club or geek squad or whatever at Best Buy and they said they can fix it, so I'm really hoping they can! Luckily most of the pictures I have on a disc or on the other computer, but there are a few I don't--yikes. So we'll keep our fingers crossed they can fix everything and it won't cost us a ton of money! Also, its my b-day today and I can't even think of a darn thing I'd like to do today! I better think of something soon before the whole day is gone and I'll be totally disappointed and thats no good! So, sorry for complaining so much, my pity party hopefully will be over soon! (p.s. I'll post some pictures from Easter once I can get them downloaded, atleast this weekend was so so nice!)

The Weekend!

Oh I'm so glad its the weekend! How wonderful! This week has been busy, just like every week, with church stuff and ballet and work and last night Carla and I had a Lia Sophia party. I think I must have the worst luck with Lia Sophia because Carla's had two fantastic parties, and the last party I had was terrible, and once again no one showed up! I really love their jewelry and the hostess benefits (if anyone comes to your party!) are super fantastic! I know a few people who sell the jewelry and I was kind of hoping to get in on it as another option for a job, its a lot more workable and I would pretty easily make more money. But anyway, I really am glad for the weekend and really looking forward to Easter stuff and also tomorrow another ward in our stake invited us to the dollar theater for a big family activity, and I think that will be a lot of fun too! Another plus, the weather has been pretty nice, and its so fun for the girls to get out and play! Come on Spring!

Back to Work!

Just a quick post today, but I wanted to say man! Its so not fun to go back to work after having almost a whole week off! Back to the humdrum of getting up at six every day and dealing with noisy kids and changing stinky diapers.....waaaah! I think I could cry a little! And by the way, all of a sudden I feel huge, it seems like it just hit me all of a sudden! Well, this month is almost over and then I just have to basically get through April and then we'll have this baby! Hopefully the time will go by fast, crossing my fingers! Oh and just a thought, we went and saw Horton Hears a Who, and if you were wondering, it really is super cute! The girls loved it, and me and Dave actually enjoyed it as well! Maddie sat and watched almost the whole thing (a super task for her!), all except the little moment where she discovered gum stuck to the bottom of her seat and was convinced she needed to get it off! Pretty funny though, well a little disgusting, but still funny!

Friday

So it's Friday and our last full day here (we're leaving tomorrow morning), its been a really nice couple of days. We've gotten to see some really beautiful and interesting things. I'm surprised at how much the girls have enjoyed it too! They've been champs and its been so great to just spend time together!(p.s. my legs are killing me from the hiking!) Well, here's some more pictures!

Looking up at the petroglyphs, it was pretty amazing!

Petroglyphs, if you see white streaks, thats because it was snowing there!

At the end of the day yesterday

Landscape Arch, the longest in the world

Me and Maddie

Bethany's been awesome on this trip, she's been a great hiker!

This is Delicate Arch, the most famous arch (the one on our license plates)

Arches

Well, the end of our first day down in Moab is here and I've already taken 125 pictures! Its so gorgeous here you wouldn't believe it! And I have to say I'm so impressed with my little girls--they loved going on the hikes! Maddie did not want to be held or carried or even hold her hand, she was going to do it herself! The first hike we did was called Park Avenue, it was beautiful and so much fun! I wasn't sure how the girls were going to like it, but they wanted to go on another "walk" right away. It was a really nice day, hopefully tomorrow they'll be just as enthusiastic because we have a couple longer hikes we want to go on! Here's a couple pictures I thought were fun!

Vacation!

So exciting for us, early tomorrow morning we're leaving on vacation! I really need to get away and relax for awhile so I hope it will do the trick! Originally we planned to go to Las Vegas and visit my sister (sorry Kristie, I miss you!) but we decided it wasn't going to work out very well. So instead we're going to go down to the Moab area and see Arches National Park, and I'm actually pretty excited about it, even though I'm sad I don't get to see my sister and her family. I just got a new camera and in the almost four years we've lived here we really haven't taken advantage of the most beautiful parts of Utah. I really think this is the first trip we've taken where we haven't gone and seen somebody! Well, wish us luck that the drive will be good and everything will go well! I'll be posting LOTS of pictures I'm sure! Oh, and the other bonus is that its supposed to rain/snow here all week and the forecast for Moab is atleast sunny and mid to upper 50's! Yeah!

Hogle Zoo

We FINALLY made it to the zoo, every time we planned to go something would come up, besides the weather! so we braved the cold today, but atleast it wasn't snowing! We had a good time, except my battery died right there toward the end and I didn't get a picture of the new baby giraffe--so cute! Here's a bunch of pictures I did get though!
Maddie looking at a fish

That Maddie is so cute!

Bethany wouldn't get on the alligator at first, maybe she thought it was real?!

They brought out a small owl and Maddie loved it, Bethany wouldn't get near it

This is pretty much how Bethany looked the whole time

This elephant kept swaying its head back and forth, pretty funny

I think Bethany's favorite part was the rhino's, she loved looking through the windows!

The rhino was looking at me, maybe he was posing!

Even with the cold--and Bethany's whining--it was a lot of fun and we want to go back when it starts to warm up!

SO Cute!

Last week we had a photographer come to the daycare and take these vintage photos of the kids. Although it was SUCH a hastle that day, the results are so adorable! Extra bonus for me, because I'm an employee I got our's for half off! Yeah! I scanned one of the pictures in, and I really wish it did the original justice, but hopefully you get the idea, so fun! The girls' loved doing it and I think they turned out pretty dang cute! (for anyone that wants some, once our order comes in they give you a disc with all the pictures burned on, so I can make prints for you!)

Jeopardy

Sorry no pictures from this activity, but maybe its better that way! Last night for Mutual we had our combined activity, and we decided to play Jeopardy which focused on the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet. It was pretty fun besides the noise level was a little high (and I think I hear enough screaming at the daycare!) but I was surprised at how detailed some of the answers were. We played boys against girls against leaders, and I honestly didn't think I needed to study the pamphlet since I read it as a teenager and I think I know the gospel fairly well. But some of it was pretty difficult just because the answers were so specific! It was funny, the boys were so into it, I guess its that competitiveness coming out in them, but they were louder than the girls! My favorite part though, was when Brad (who was answering ALL the questions) complained to Kerrilyn (his mom) about not getting an answer in, she replied "Well, thats what happens when you have happy hands!" Kerri, you're awesome, thanks for making me laugh, you did a great job putting that all together, I hope you know I appreciate you so much!

Appointments, doctors, needles!

Well, had my glucose test today, I had to fast for twelve hours then eat a high protein meal, then two hours after that drink the "Glucola" and then an hour after that take some blood. (Somewhere in there I went to work too) After that I had my regular appointment, I'm 29 weeks now and everything is looking just great, right where everything should be! I got to make all the rest of my appointments until I deliver, its crazy to think about, but its going to go by so fast! I'm so excited to see this baby, now all we need to do is come up with a name!! Hopefully something will stick out to us soon!

Another Sunday

Maddie looked so cute for church today, so I had to take some pictures of her. She's so funny when you tell her to say cheese she makes the funniest face, I love it! So here's a couple pictures. (unfortunately, there's no pretty pictures of Bethany, she hasn't been feeling so well and decided this morning she would throw the tantrum of the year, you could hear her in her room "how come nobody loves me? waaaa" She's such a drama queen!)

This one just so shows what kind of mood Bethany's been in lately! Yikes stay away from her!

Sad Saturday

Just a quick update to the end of the week. Bethany's been sick the last couple of days, Maddie threw up all over me last night, and today everyone was feeling pretty good and we wanted to go up to the zoo but as soon as we got into Salt Lake, the weather went from overcast and cloudy, to rainy, to snowy within like half an hour. So we had to turn around and go back. What a waste! So we stopped by my cousin's on the way back, it was fun to visit with them and play games. So atleast it wasn't a total bust! Hopefully the weather will start clearing up again and it will start to feel like spring soon!
