Youth Conference '08

Well, another Youth Conference has come and gone! Since our stake did a big Youth Conference this year, we decided we'd just do a one day thing at Yuba, instead of three days like we did last year. Last year was so fun, but I can't say that this year wasn't awesome also! I was sad it was only one day, but we had such a good time, I just love our youth! It was a fun day of boating, eating, making sand "things" and hanging out! David had to work all day Saturday, so I made arrangements for the girls to spend the day with the Youngblood's and then they went to Aunt Kay's for awhile too! It was Kylie's b-day, so they got to go bowling!! How exciting for them, they loved every minute, they're still talking about it! (Thanks to Julie and Kay, I'm so grateful you helped me out, you're lifesavers!) So I did take Sam with me to the lake and he did awesome! He pretty much slept the entire day, but even when he was awake he hardly cried at all! The pictures crack me up, because in his little lifejacket he's just all snuggled up, like a burrito or something! I didn't get hardly sunburned at all, just a little on my nose and the top of my feet--weird I know! It was a long day though, and I was tired! But I did end up chaperoning the stake dance that night as well, a long day, but very fun!

Katie, Me and Annie--laughing yes, but also in pain from knocking heads together!

This is a common pose for Annie, she plays sports and is often seen showing her injuries, that are often in that exact same spot--she loves it!! haha

There's Kerrilyn, so cute!

Josh, Jessica and Steven getting ready to tube!

Lucas and Heather, Lucus was so adorable!

Making sand creatures!

Doesn't Rachel look so beautiful!?!

There's Sam in his life jacket--looks comfy ha?

I love that Beth, she is so wonderful!

Brad getting sprayed down with sunscreen--although he still burned! haha

Steven is the greatest kid!

Alice and the Bishop eating dinner--sloppy joes, a-slop sloppy joes yeah!

Lucy and Katie, isn't that so cute?!

Sam getting a bottle, Roshelle is so sweet to him!

Annie again!

Some of the boys digging themselves into the sand

Oh, beautiful Yuba, I miss you already!

Well Dave, on your 29th birthday I hope you know how much your family loves you even though we really couldn't celebrate. You're wonderful and we're lucky to have you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

(this is the best we could get for using the self timer, but we're really trying to blow kisses to dad!)

Time to play a little Catch!

Well, David's parents had to get back to work and now its time for me catch up on what we've been up to! We had such a great time, and its hard to see them go, we're so happy they'll be back next month, that makes things so much easier! (although, Bethany seriously sat in her bed last night bawling for Grandpa and holding a shirt he'd given her because that's how she could remember him! She's so dramatic!)They got to come up this time for a nephew's wedding, but we secretly hope that was just an excuse to see us!haha We decided on Thursday we were going to go out to dinner for Dave's b-day and went to Tucanos. Fun experience if you haven't done it! Friday we went to Discovery Park and the Chuck-A-Rama, among other things. Saturday was the wedding, which was an all day thing, I think they left at eight in the morning and it was almost eight when they got back! WOw! Sunday was more casual, because it was Sunday! :) Monday they had to go, we ran some errands and relaxed and went out to lunch, it was a nice day. I'm skipping lots of little things in an effort to save time, but to sum it up, we love you guys and miss you, and are so excited to go to the Grand Canyon next month and for the family reunion! Yippee!

Thursday at Tucanos, the one of Dave is him eating his b-day dessert

Friday we went to Discovery Park, they love it there!

Isn't this picture sweet of the kids with their Grandma!

Just so you know...

I know you all can't live without my fabulous posts (wink, wink), so I'm letting you know I probably won't be posting the next few days or so, because David's parents are in town! I know, I know, its awful and you're so disappointed, but thats life and you'll just have to deal with it! haha Alright, I know I'm not that important but still I didn't want anyone to think I'd fallen off the blogging bandwagon, right?! I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures with Grandma and Grandpa after this weekend to post, so see you then!

Strange Footprints, Mysterious Monsters!!

Yes, its true. Something very frightening is living in my house....
Recently, I've noticed some very strange footprints across my living room floor. 'Hmmmm' I thought, 'What could possible make a three toed footprint?!'

This all started a few days ago, when the weather became incredibly beautiful outside. Bethany and Madelyn have been playing outside as much as possible and loving it. But with all this strange behavior, I'm not sure if they're safe....
Since seeing these footprints, I decided I couldn't just sit back and not do something about this problem. So I started to investigate, and you wouldn't believe the terrifying monsters I found. Yes, I said monsterS, there were two of them. As I followed the footprints, this is what I came across......

(warning: if you are weak stomached or faint easily, you might not want to go on!)

*
*
*
*
*
*
This is what I found waiting for me:
*
*
*
*
*
1. Dirty filthy little fingers!

*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
Shocking discovery number two:
*
*
*
*
*
2. Disgustingly gross little feet!!

*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
My third discovery (by this time, I'm horrified at what I might find!):
*
*
*
*
*
3. This creature, with strange murky looking eye coverings!

*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
Lastly, and this is the real kicker, a monster so terrible it makes me shudder....
*
*
*
*
*
4. My own daugher, turned into a putrid, greasy, dirt ridden little monster. It stikes fear into your heart doesn't it?!

Luckily for us, these monsters disappear around bathtime every day. Strange though......
*
(I do have to say that this picture makes me laugh almost hysterically. I try to look at it without losing it, but I can't, its just too funny!)

Father's Day

What a great dad! I love you Dave!

I'm so grateful for the wonderful fathers' in my life! My dad has always been an amazing example, I can't even explain how much I love him! And David's dad has been wonderful to me, I like to think I get to be extra special because I'm his only daughter-in-law, and he treats me very sweetly indeed! And I'm also so grateful for my amazing husband who is an amazing dad to our children! I love David so much, I can't believe all he does for us and all he puts up with, he's wonderful! Happy Father's Day!
I love you Pa!

I love you Dad!

Too much Fun Friday!

I'm so excited its Friday today! Normally it wouldn't really matter too much, but David has today off--yay! So we planned to do some extra fun stuff since we haven't seen much of dad lately, he's been working a lot! We had to run a few errands this morning and one of them included delivering some stuff from the Mr. Mac's down here to the one up at the mall, since we were going to be up there, we thought we'd do a little shopping (my brother's getting married in August, so we needed something for that). So, fun for me, I got a new dress and shirt! After that--since we were up there--we went to Olive Garden! Yummy....Gotta love the soup, salad and breadsticks! Then we came back to catch an early show of "Kung Fu Panda"! If you were wanting to see it, then do because it was so dang cute! Totally entertaining for both kids and parents, honestly. So now we're back from that, we're fed, entertained and satisfied--partially--with shopping! What a great Friday! Oh, and just to add, Bethany was commenting about me having freckles on my face, except she kept calling them farkles--and maybe I'm immature or dumb, but just saying the word makes me laugh, I guess it just tickled me! haha that Bethany....oh and she's trying out all her kung fu moves now too! (you know you're saying farkle in your head right now!hehehe)

Whats New?

So its just been so different being home now! I was thinking about when I was a stay-at-home mom before I was seriously lazy! haha I feel like I'm staying on top of things much better, but maybe its just a weird hormonal thing and I'll be back to disorganized again soon! :) We had our laurel activity here last night and baked, it was fun to hang out and laugh and talk with my girls, they're so amazing! I just love them so much! We also had a camp certification meeting this morning, Bethany got to go next door to Myrlynn's and loved making cookies with her and her grandkids, and Maddie and Sam went with me. We've been so lucky that so many people have had our kids over to play, not only do they LOVE it, it makes things so much easier for me! Thanks! Here's a couple pictures from the last few days!

Because I took a picture with Maddie and Sam, Bethany wanted me to take a picture of her and her baby doll--alrighty then!

Maddie wanted her baby to sleep with Sam, it totally reminded me of Bethany when Maddie was born--see next picture!

This was when Maddie was born, Bethany liked to put her dollies in with Maddie.

We've had a *few* nice days, but its been pretty windy the last day or two! I hope real summer weather will hit us--and stay!--really soon! Here's a picture of the girls playing on the swingset

The weekend

This week has gone by pretty fast. Tuesday we had Sam's appointment, Wednesday is a blur, I'm not sure what I did, but I wanted to go to Girls' Night, but David didn't get off work until 9pm, so I didn't!Thursday was fun, we had some friends stop by. Shauna came to close her party up, it was so nice to get to visit with her. Then Julie and her kids came and ate lunch with us, it was nice to get to visit and not worry about loading my kids up! Collin came and played too and even though its not always fun for him to play with my little girls he was a good sport! :) Yesterday was fun too, I went up to the mall and had lunch with Dave, it really wasn't bad at all to take all three kids up, I had Bethany walk and Maddie in a stroller and Sam in a little baby sling. I had so many people stop and ask me what was in there! haha I've been promising Bethany we'd stop by the daycare and say hi to her friends, but when we got done at the mall all her friends had gone home for the day, so she asked if we could stop by the Lefler's, I said we could see if they were home. Well, lucky for us they were, and it was so nice to get to visit. Thanks Laina for letting us crash your afternoon! So today is Saturday and even if I wanted to get out and do something I can't, because we had to get a new washing machine and of course their time frame is from 10am to 2pm, the whole afternoon! Well, I'll just be catching up on laundry the rest of the day anyway, especially since David's working anyway! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
After having so many friends on Thursday, both the girls fell asleep on the couch like this! haha

I walked in the kitchen and here Maddie is on the table playing play-doh! Yikes!
